What it does

As introduced, Bill 26-428 would modernize the District’s child labor law by re-writing its provisions in plain, clear language. It places responsibility for implementation and enforcement with the Department of Employment Services (DOES). The proposed bill also clarifies the Office of the Attorney General’s role to bring civil suits against employers who violate the law. FISCAL NOTE - This bill is passed Subject to Appropriations.
