What it does

As introduced, Bill 26-647 would allow renters to obtain short-term rental licenses. It would also allow District residents that own a second property in the District to obtain a short-term rental license for the second property. It would also address the number of unlicensed short-term rental properties that are advertised on booking services platforms by requiring the booking service platform to obtain a business license to operate in the District.
