Illinois House Bill 1863: ONE HEALTH TASK FORCE

What it does

Creates the Boards and Commissions Review Act. Provides that, during odd-numbered years, beginning in 2027, a person or entity authorized or required by the Illinois Constitution, a statute, or an executive order of the Governor to appoint a majority of the appointed members of a board, commission, task force, or other body that is authorized or created by the Illinois Constitution, a statute, or an executive order of the Governor and to which that person or entity is authorized to make appointments may review the activity of that board to determine whether the board has conducted business or held meetings in the prior 2 years, has been abolished by executive order, or has submitted a final statutory report. Based on the findings of its review, the appointing authority shall consider whether to submit a report to the General Assembly recommending abolition of the board. Provides that, on or before December 31 of each odd-numbered year, beginning in 2027, an appointing authority may submit a report to the General Assembly that recommends the abolition of one or more boards to which the appointing authority is authorized or required to make appointments and that sets forth the…
